Happy New Year to everyone!

I hope you had a great Holiday. Things were kind of hectic at our house but are now getting back to "normal". A New Year, a fresh start. That is what I like about this time of year. We can really reflect on the past year and focus on making the next better. I know some people make resolutions, but I try not to. I find that resolutions are like diets.. you start out with the best of intentions but they soon fail.

I am hoping this year will be different, I am resolving to focus on what is really important. With me losing my job, it has forced me to slow down and re-evaluate everything. What is important? Are clothes important? Are vacations important? Are all the people in my life that I waste energy on important? The answer to almost all of these answers is NO! Why has it taken me so long to realize this? Well I suppose better late than never. I now know how Scrooge must have felt after he was visited by the 3 spririts.

In 2008, I am going to focus on what matters to me. That includes doing things that make me truly happy. A few weeks ago my good friends Tamico and Brad came over and we went sledding in my backyard. I laughed so hard like I hadn't since I was a kid. We should all do things every now and then that make us laugh like that. I am going to try and slow my life down and enjoy it. I hope that you all do the same....
